AdaniConneX — the 50:50 joint venture of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX — is the most consequential data-centre platform in India for anyone selling equipment. It operates across six markets, has three sites already live, holds published site potential of roughly 3 GW of IT load, and has leased 240 MW to CoreWeave at its Taloja campus. This record is the portfolio aggregate: it tells you where the capacity is. The site-level detail belongs in each facility record, and this page must never be added to them.

2The portfolio in one chart

This is the number that matters, and it is not the one usually quoted.

Figure 1Published site potential IT load across the six markets, per the operator's own location pages. The total of roughly 3,033 MW already exceeds the 2 GW footprint stated as the 2030 ambition — which means the constraint on this platform is delivery, not site pipeline.
Gridvik read — the constraint is execution, not land

The operator publishes about 3,033 MW of site potential but states a 2 GW ambition for 2030. Those two numbers together tell you something a single capacity figure cannot: the platform has more consented capacity than it currently intends to build in this decade.

For a vendor, that reframes the question. It is not 'how much will AdaniConneX build' — it is 'which of these six sites will be built next, and who is buying for it'. The answer, today, is Navi Mumbai (1 GW, ready from December 2026) and Visakhapatnam (1 GW, with Google, from December 2028).

The 5 GW group target for 2035, announced separately, is a further expansion beyond the JV platform and must not be added to these figures without reconciliation.

Why these are site potential, not built capacity

Every figure in this table is the operator's published potential IT load for that site. Chennai 1, for example, is live at 17 MW against 33 MW potential. Hyderabad is live in phase 1 against 600 MW potential. Using site potential as built capacity would overstate the platform by an order of magnitude.

Built capacity for each facility belongs in its own record. This page exists to show the shape of the portfolio and where the next phases will come from.

4Anchor tenants — the demand side is already contracted

What separates this platform from most Indian announcements is that the demand is named, leased and in several cases global hyperscale.

CoreWeave
240 MW at Taloja, Navi Mumbai — three 80 MW buildings, first phase expected mid-2028, with CoreWeave as sole tenant across all three and an option to double to a potential 580 MW at the campus. The Taloja design includes direct liquid cooling and a non-evaporative chilled water system, and CoreWeave plans to deploy the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform
Google
Two roles: partner on the 1 GW Visakhapatnam hub (PRJ-001), where AdaniConneX and Nxtra build the data-centre buildings and connectivity; and tenant at Noida Sector 62, leasing 464,460 sq ft for ten years at a starting annual rent of ₹130.89 crore
Microsoft
Partnership announced covering Hyderabad and Pune campuses
AWS
Named by Adani's chief digital officer among the hyperscalers the group's data centres will serve
Why this matters
Pre-let capacity is the difference between a speculative build and a financeable one. Each of these leases converts site potential into a funded order book, which is precisely what a vendor wants to see before investing time in a qualification process

5Capital and structure

Joint venture
AdaniConneX Private Limited — 50:50 between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, formed February 2021 with a stated 1 GW vision over ten years across Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Vizag and Hyderabad
Construction financing
A US$1.65 bn pool: a US$213 m maiden facility closed June 2023 (financing 67 MW across Chennai 1 phase 1 and Noida), and a US$1.44 bn sustainability-linked framework closed April 2024 (financing 144 MW across Pune and Hyderabad). Both recorded on PRJ-006
Sustainability linkage
The US$1.44 bn facility prices margin against PUE, renewable electricity share and safety KPIs. Energy efficiency is therefore a financial covenant on this portfolio, not a design preference
Group ambition
Adani Enterprises' 2026 digital report states a 2 GW renewable-powered data-centre footprint by 2030. The group has separately committed US$100 bn by 2035, taking its overall data-centre target to 5 GW, building on this platform
Demand partnerships
Anchored by Google for gigawatt AI capacity at Visakhapatnam and Noida, and Microsoft across Hyderabad and Pune
Why the structure matters to a vendor
A financed, pre-let platform with lender efficiency covenants behaves very differently from a speculative developer: specifications get locked early, and equipment that helps meet PUE and renewable targets is worth more than equipment that is merely cheaper

  • Visakhapatnam phase 1 ready-for-service target, alongside Google's hub.

7Procurement

Read this before the table

This is a portfolio record. The order windows below are stated by site, because a single platform-level number would be meaningless. All figures are Gridvik estimates derived from published site potential, PUE and redundancy assumptions.

Procurement window and scope
Gridvik assessment · 22 Oct 2026
Order window
Active across the portfolio now through 2028. Navi Mumbai is the largest live opportunity — 1 GW from December 2026, with 240 MW pre-let to CoreWeave and a mid-2028 phase target. Visakhapatnam follows for 2028 delivery. Hyderabad and Pune are in phased expansion. Chennai 1 and Noida are operational with balance capacity still to build.
Procurement heat
High. Financed, pre-let, and building in six markets simultaneously. This is the single most important vendor account in Indian data centres.
Who buys
AdaniConneX centrally, through site-level SPVs. Because the joint venture operates as one platform with one financed construction programme and one set of lender covenants, vendor qualification tends to happen once and then apply across sites — which makes getting onto the list disproportionately valuable
DG / gensets (indicative)
At roughly 3,033 MW of site potential and N+1 redundancy, a full build-out implies of the order of 2,400–2,900 gensets of 2,000–2,250 kVA class across the six sites. For the 240 MW CoreWeave phase at Taloja alone, roughly 190–225 units
UPS (indicative)
Very large centralised UPS plant across all sites, at Rated 3 or 99.999% availability standards. Module quantities unpublished
Cooling (indicative)
The Taloja campus is the specification to watch. It is designed for high-density AI with direct liquid cooling and a non-evaporative chilled water system — a water-conserving design choice that is becoming a de facto requirement for AI campuses in water-stressed Maharashtra. The other sites do not have published liquid-cooling designs

8Assumptions and method

What is sourced
Site potential, localities, readiness dates, tenants, financing, JV structure, group targets
What is derived
The procurement section, and the ~3,033 MW total, which is a Gridvik sum of published site figures
Additivity rule
Non-additive — portfolio aggregate. Every site listed here has, or will have, its own facility record. This page must never be summed with those records, with the Adani Maharashtra MoU (PRJ-005), or with the group's 5 GW 2035 target
Capacity basis
Site potential is stated by the operator as IT load. Built capacity is materially lower at every site — Chennai 1 is live at 17 MW against 33 MW potential, for example
Target discrepancy
The platform states a 2 GW ambition for 2030 while publishing roughly 3,033 MW of site potential. Both are retained; Gridvik does not reconcile them, because they measure different things — one is a delivery commitment, the other is a consented pipeline
Relationship to PRJ-006
The financing records the assets that the construction debt funds. It carries no capacity of its own and is not additive to this page

9Limits, conflicts and open questions

Built versus potential
The central caution. Nearly all published figures are site potential. Live capacity across the platform is a small fraction of 3,033 MW
Site-level records
Not all six sites have a full Gridvik facility record yet. Chennai 1, Noida and Navi Mumbai are prioritised; Hyderabad, Pune and Visakhapatnam follow
Phase detail
Published phase sizes vary between sources. Noida appears variously as 50 MW financed capacity, 150 MW site potential and roughly 10 MW reported running — see PRJ-007
Taloja specification
Direct liquid cooling and non-evaporative chilled water are stated for Taloja. PUE targets, densities and equipment vendors are not published
Microsoft partnership
Announced for Hyderabad and Pune. Leased capacity, terms and phasing are not disclosed
AWS involvement
Named as a target customer by an Adani executive. No agreement is documented
What we will not claim
No aggregate built capacity, no per-site utilisation, no equipment brands, and no view on whether the 2 GW or 5 GW targets will be met
