STT GDC Hyderabad 1 is 4 MW of IT load — the only building the company publishes in Hyderabad, and 67% of its 6 MW city headline. The other two megawatts belong to nothing. It is one of four 4 MW modules in the STT estate, and here the module carries less portfolio around it than anywhere else. Against CtrlS, which runs three named buildings totalling 26.4 MW in the same city and claims two more parks, this is a foothold that was never expanded. No stage, rack count, floor area or PUE is published.

2Four megawatts in a 341 MW city
Hyderabad is the second-largest data centre market in southern India. STT has one building in it.
| Operator | Published | Buildings | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| CtrlS | 26.4 MW + 1.45 GW of parks claimed | 3 named | the incumbent |
| STT GDC | 4 MW in one building | 1 | a foothold |
| All counted Telangana capacity | 341.3 MW | many | the market |
Four megawatts is 1.2% of the counted Telangana market. It is the smallest meaningful presence any national operator has in the state, and it has not grown while everything around it did.
That matters for two reasons. It tells a tenant that STT cannot serve a serious Hyderabad requirement, which pushes them to CtrlS or to the newer entrants. And it tells a competitor that one of the four national platforms is effectively absent from India’s fastest-growing data centre market — which is an open field.
3The module at 67%
The 4 MW module appears in four cities. This is where it plays its largest role.
| City | Portfolio | Module share | What the module is doing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ahmedabad | 4 MW | 100% | the entire Indian presence in that city |
| Hyderabad | 6 MW headline | 67% | the only real building, plus 2 MW of air |
| Bengaluru | 23 MW | 17% | a city-entry site alongside a large hall |
| Mumbai | 133 MW | 3% | a rounding detail in the country’s biggest estate |
A standard module that is 100% of one city and 3% of another is the clearest possible demonstration of how little a portfolio total tells you about a city. The same building is the whole market presence in Ahmedabad and invisible in Mumbai.
For anyone selling into STT, it also means the sales cycle is the same in all four places: a 4 MW building has a 4 MW equipment schedule and a 4 MW-sized decision. That predictability is what a vendor wants, and it is only visible if the operator publishes cards rather than aggregates.

5Limits and open questions
- 2 MW of its own portfolio unaccounted for. The headline exceeds the only published building.
- No stage, racks, floor area or PUE.
- Counted at zero in a 341.3 MW state.
- No expansion signal anywhere in the public record.
- Single source for the 4 MW.
- What would close it. A stage, a rack count and an answer on the missing 2 MW. Three lines would settle the smallest portfolio in the estate.
