STT GDC Delhi 1 is 0.9 MW — nine hundred kilowatts. It is the smallest data centre building STT publishes anywhere in India, and one of five records under a megawatt in this registry. It is 2.5% of a 12 MW Delhi portfolio and 11 times smaller than Delhi 3, the same operator’s 10 MW building in the same city. And the whole Delhi portfolio is counted at zero, so this building is larger than the entire counted capacity of India’s capital. No stage, rack count, floor area or PUE is published.

2What nine hundred kilowatts is
Nine hundred kilowatts is a data hall in a building, not a data centre. In Delhi, that may be exactly the right thing to own.
| Assumed density | Cabinets | What it serves |
|---|---|---|
| 5 kW a rack | 180 | a small enterprise floor |
| 8 kW a rack | 112 | one contained aisle |
| 12 kW a rack | 75 | a single dense row |
In most markets a 900 kW site would be a rounding error. In Delhi it is a strategic asset, because it is essentially impossible to build a new data centre inside the territory. Land costs, construction restrictions and water constraints have pushed all new capacity across the state line into Noida and Greater Noida.
So this building’s value is not its megawatts. It is its address, its existing power connection and its grandfathering. Demolishing it would destroy something that could not be rebuilt.
3The smallest tier of the estate
Five records in this registry sit under one megawatt. Two of them are STT, and both are in Delhi and Bengaluru.
| Record | MW | City | Why it survives |
|---|---|---|---|
| STT Delhi 1 | 0.9 | Delhi | an address inside a city that cannot be built in |
| STT Bengaluru 1 | 0.6 | Bengaluru | a legacy suite, possibly holding connectivity |
| CtrlS Patna Edge DC 1 | 0.5 | Patna | the first edge site in Bihar |
| Sify Vashi | 0.38 | Mumbai | a legacy node in the original corridor |
| NTT Mumbai BSE | 0.3 | Mumbai | exchange-adjacent, where latency is the product |
Four of the five survive because they hold something that cannot be moved — a location, a fibre route, or an exchange proximity. Only Bengaluru might be genuinely redundant.
That is the correct test for a sub-megawatt record: does it hold a position, or is it just small? Four hold positions. It is worth asking the operators about the fifth.

5Limits and open questions
- No stage, racks, floor area or PUE. Nothing but a capacity.
- Counted at zero along with the rest of Delhi.
- Whether it holds a position or is simply small cannot be determined from public material.
- Basis unresolved — 0.9 MW is not labelled IT or gross.
- Single source. No directory lists a 0.9 MW STT Delhi site separately.
- What would close it. One line from the operator. This is the cheapest record in the estate to complete.
